The control room of a Malon export vessel
A control room was a room housing equipment used for monitoring and managing a ship or installation.
Malon export vessels had a control room where the ship's toxic waste systems were monitored by a waste controller.
In 2375, one such vessel was discovered by the USS Voyager to be leaking dangerous theta radiation. An away team managed to beam aboard the ship, head to the control room, and seal the ruptured waste tanks before the ship exploded. (VOY: "Juggernaut")
In 2381, an away team from the USS Cerritos visiting Narj's Miraculous Menagerarium to retrieve two Human exhibits fled into the control room with proprietor Narj to escape from a moopsy that the Human exhibits had deliberately released. However, the bone-drinking animal entered the room through an air vent and consumed Narj. As they had entered the control room in a blind panic, the away team did not realize where they were until Lieutenant jg Beckett Mariner had trapped the moopsy inside. The moopsy walked on the controls and caused the station's orbit to decay, forcing the away team to use Commander Jack Ransom's teeth to lure it out of the room and back into its enclosure so they could reenter safely and restabilize the station's orbit.
