Cryogenic stasis, otherwise known as cryostasis, cryogenic suspension, or cryo-freezing, was a form of stasis induced by exposure to low temperatures within a cryo-stasis chamber of some kind. For humanoid lifeforms, this caused sleep that appeared very much like death. Colloquially, the terms "cold storage" and "deep freeze" were also used to described this state.

The USS Enterprise-D encountered a space module carrying cryogenically-frozen Humans from the late 20th century. (TNG: "The Neutral Zone")

Cold Station 12 was a space station operated by Humans and Denobulans that contained a vast number of materials in cytogenic stasis. (ENT: "Cold Station 12", et al.)

John Doe's forearm was kept in cryogenic stasis until it was reattached to his upper arm. (TNG: "Transfigurations")

On Starbase 515, Surgical Suite 6, located in room 03-1459, was designated as a "cryo" unit. (TNG: "Samaritan Snare")

After beaming the Klingon first officer Hon-Tihl aboard the station, Doctor Julian Bashir suggested to put him into cryostasis because of his severe injuries caused by weapon's fire. Hon-Tihl died on the transporter pad. (DS9: "Dramatis Personae")

While exploring a class L planet emitting an SOS distress signal on an AM radio frequency, the USS Voyager crew encountered eight Humans from the year 1937 who had remained in cryostasis for over 400 years. (VOY: "The 37's")

In 2373, Neelix cryogenically preserved Porakan eggs in a cryostatic chamber from Porakas IV for their use as Tuvok's breakfast. (VOY: "Flashback")

A trading post on the edge of the Nekrit Expanse used cryostatic suspension as a punishment. For example, the punishment for trafficking in illicit substances was fifty years of cryostatic imprisonment. Wixiban asked Neelix if he would like it if he was put in cryostatic suspension by Bahrat after a deal with Sutok went terribly wrong on his space station. (VOY: "Fair Trade")
