DC Comics (originally named National Periodical Publications) is a publisher of comic books. Headquartered in New York City, DC is the publisher of many well-known comic book heroes, including Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

DC had also published several runs of comics based on Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation between 1982 and 1996.

DC acquired another company, WildStorm Comics, which was previously a segment of the independent Image Comics. A run of Star Trek "one-shot" issues and "mini-series" collections were published under this imprint between 2000 and 2001.
