Daneeka was a member of Starfleet who served under Captain Leyton aboard the USS Okinawa when Benjamin Sisko was the ship's XO. In 2372, Leyton, now an admiral, reassigned Daneeka to Facilities, Starfleet Command on stardate 49264 as part of his preparations to launch a military coup. (DS9: "Paradise Lost")
- This character was named after Doc Daneeka, a character in Joseph Heller's novel Catch-22. Daneeka was the name of a card in the Star Trek CCG '"Strange New Worlds" deck which did not mention his background with Leyton, but also suggested that Daneeka was an enlisted technician aboard the USS Enterprise-D.
