Daran V was an inhabited planet. This was the homeworld for a native species. It was the fifth planet in the Daran planetary system. This system was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
History
Prior to stardate 5476, there were counted 3.724 billion people living on this planet.
In 2268, the crew of the USS Enterprise discovered the 10,000 year-old Fabrini asteroid vessel, the Yonada, 396 days away from Daran V. The vessel had veered off course and was about to impact Daran V, killing all of the planet's population. Fortunately, the Yonada's course was altered away from Daran V by the actions of the crew of the Enterprise. (TOS: "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky")
The planet's location in the Milky Way Galaxy was depicted on a large Federation star chart in 2293. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, production art) Daran V appeared in the starchart Data and Picard were studying in Stellar Cartography in 2371. (Star Trek Generations, display graphic) The location of the planet was also depicted in the star charts on USS Voyager in the astrometrics lab in 2376. (VOY: "Child's Play", display graphic)
