- If you are looking for a landscape full of sand, please see Desert.
"If you ask me, it's the best part of any meal."
- - Deanna Troi (TNG: "Liaisons")
A dessert was any one of numerous forms of edible confections usually following a dinner or a supper. These confections could also follow a lunch. Desserts usually contained sucrose, or other forms of sugars.
After coming in contact with an energy field, the food synthesizers on some Romulan D7 class battle cruisers overflowed with desserts. (TAS: "The Practical Joker")
Desserts were Commander William T. Riker's favorite part of dinner. (TNG: "Silicon Avatar")
When Benjamin Sisko and the crew of the USS Defiant were invited over for the first meal on Meridian, Sisko jokingly said he hoped the planet wouldn't suddenly disappear in the middle of dessert. (DS9: "Meridian")
In 2371, when Mardah described Jake Sisko as being "quite the hustler" at dom-jot during dinner with him and his father, Jake ducked out, suggesting he would check on how the dessert was coming. (DS9: "The Abandoned")
In 2374, Nilva told "Lumba" that they would have dessert in his quarters. (DS9: "Profit and Lace")
Earth desserts include:
- Bread pudding soufflé
- Cherries jubilee
- Chocolate
- Chocolate cake
