Dessica II was the second planet in the Dessica system. This planet was near the Romulan Neutral Zone. The planet was once home to an ancient Romulan outpost. One of the archaeological sites that contained remnants of this Romulan presence were the ruins of Nafir.
In 2370, Dessica II was governed by a heavily-corrupted government. The same year Captain Jean-Luc Picard was kidnapped from a bar on Dessica II by a group of mercenaries working under Arctus Baran. (TNG: "Gambit, Part I")
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on page 67, this planet was located in the Epsilon Virginis (Vindemiatrix) star system. Dessica II orbited a yellow giant. This non-aligned planet was located in the Beta Quadrant.
