The deuterium stream coil was a component of the deuterium injection subsystem. Within these coils, deuterium was streamed from the deuterium injectors into the dilithium crystal chamber. Each coil was made of an opaque material. On Galaxy-class starships, at every five or six coils, there was a joint connecting each line of coils. (TNG: "Booby Trap", okudagrams)
