Restaurant scene

A typical restaurant scene at Sisko's Creole Kitchen on Earth

A restaurant, also known as an eating establishment, was an establishment dedicated to serving food to customers. They could vary greatly in terms of service, food provided, and location. Someone who was in the business of running restaurants was called a restaurateur. (DS9: "Nor the Battle to the Strong")

Planets[]

Planets with large populations, such as Earth and Romulus, had numerous restaurants.

Malcolm Reed and Mark Latrelle visited a seafood restaurant, located in the Embarcadero, a district in San Francisco. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")

While on Earth, Doctor Phlox enjoyed egg drop soup at Madame Chang's, a restaurant specializing in Asian cuisine. (ENT: "Home", "Affliction")

In 2161, the chef of Enterprise NX-01 was considering opening his own restaurant in the Berkshires on Earth. (ENT: "These Are the Voyages...")

Earth was also home to Sisko's Creole Kitchen in New Orleans, Louisiana. This restaurant was owned and operated by Joseph Sisko, and focused on traditional Creole dishes such as gumbo. (DS9: "Homefront", "Paradise Lost", "Image in the Sand")

In 2368, Jean-Luc Picard and Data, disguised as Romulans, ordered soup in a small restaurant in the Krocton Segment on Romulus. (TNG: "Unification I")

Space stations[]

With a constant source of customers, space stations were ideal places for restaurants.

Deep Space Station K-7 contained a restaurant. Since it was a Federation station, the restaurant did not serve raktajinos. Cyrano Jones was known to do business in this restaurant. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles"; TAS: "More Tribbles, More Troubles"; DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations")

One of the largest establishments on Deep Space 9 was Quark's, which featured gambling tables (including dabo tables complete with dabo girls) and a bar along with normal restaurant functions. (DS9, et al.)

Deep Space 9 also had a Klingon restaurant, owned and operated by a master Klingon Chef. This restaurant served authentic Klingon food, including racht. (DS9: "Melora", "Playing God")

By 2372 the station also had a Vulcan restaurant. That year, Jake Sisko and Nog had a chance encounter with Kasidy Yates at this restaurant. (DS9: "Indiscretion")

List of restaurants[]

Furthermore, Milliways, an establishment of an unspecified nature on Deep Space 9's Promenade, might have been intended to be a restaurant based on its providence.
