Draylax was an inhabited planet in the Alpha Quadrant. This was the homeworld of the Draylaxians.

It was located on the 22nd century trade routes of the Earth Cargo Service; for example, it was one end of the Draylax-Vega colony-run. (ENT: "Fortunate Son")

Enterprise NX-01's helmsman, Ensign Travis Mayweather, visited Draylax once aboard his family's cargo hauler, the ECS Horizon. He confirmed surreptitiously that Draylaxian women were endowed with "three...", and claimed to have had "firsthand, secondhand, and thirdhand" experience. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

A popular alcoholic beverage from the planet was Draylaxian whiskey, considered "one of the galaxy's real pleasures" by Captain Keene. (ENT: "Fortunate Son")

In 2152, Trip Tucker used Draylax in a game of geography that Jonathan Archer forced him to play in order to keep Trip awake while they awaited rescue on the Torothan homeworld. (ENT: "Desert Crossing")

In 2259, the location of this planet was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This planet's symbol had a blue color, indicating that it was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Spock Amok", "A Quality of Mercy")

The planet's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. Draylax was in or near to Federation space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

In 2401, the location of Draylax was labeled on a star chart that was seen on the USS Stargazer's bridge viewscreen. The chart was used to show the location of the combined Starfleet-Borg armada and where it needed to go to face a galactic-level threat. (PIC: "Farewell")

Later that year, this planet's position was labeled on a star chart used by Captain William T. Riker during his attempt at finding the last known location of the SS Eleos XII. (PIC: "The Next Generation")

In 3190, the location of Draylax was labeled on a star chart used by Commander Paul Stamets for tracking the movement of the Dark Matter Anomaly through the galaxy. (DIS: "The Examples")

Background information[]

In a scene deleted from "Fight or Flight", Ensign Travis Mayweather also referenced Draylax in a similar game he played with Archer. Mayweather and Archer actually used the same locations as Tucker and Archer later.

According to Archer, in the year 2151, the farthest that Humans had traveled from Earth was 90 light years. Draylax was visited by Humans prior to this year. (ENT: "Two Days and Two Nights")

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 45 & 66) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the Draylax (Epsilon Indi) system was located in the Beta Quadrant. The primary was a K-class star. In the 22nd century, this system was a destination on the Earth trade routes, and traded with the Vega (Alpha Lyrae) and Sol systems. In the late 24th century, Draylax was a Federation member.
