Emily Anne Bergl (born 25 April 1975; age 48) is the actress who played Bethany in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "North Star". Bergl was born in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England, grew up mostly in Chicago, Illinois, and is a graduate of Grinnell College in Iowa.

According to Michael DeMeritt in the audio commentary for the episode, Bergl became so endeared by the crew that they were dreaming that she could become a permanent character in some way.
