Shuttlecraft 13 was a type-7 shuttlecraft assigned to the USS Enterprise-D.
In 2364, Shuttle 13 was stolen from the main shuttlebay by Jake Kurland, who intended to take the craft to Beltane IX and sign onto a freighter following his rejection from Starfleet Academy. Kurland was not fully experienced in piloting the craft and lost power to the engine, which sent him hurtling towards planet Relva VII. Captain Jean-Luc Picard instructed Kurland in a maneuver which bounced the shuttle off the atmosphere of Relva VII. Kurland then returned to the Enterprise. (TNG: "Coming of Age")
Later that year, Counselor Deanna Troi went to a psychology conference aboard Shuttle 13, piloted by Lieutenant Ben Prieto. The shuttle suffered an onboard systems failure and crashed on Vagra II while en route to a rendezvous with the Enterprise-D in the Zed Lapis sector. The shuttle was destroyed from orbit to prevent the malevolent entity Armus from escaping the planet. (TNG: "Skin of Evil")
- Shuttlecraft 13 was the first type-7 shuttlecraft and the first shuttlecraft seen on Star Trek: The Next Generation. In TNG: "Skin of Evil," the aft area of the shuttle's exterior was slighly different than seen on other type-7 shuttles, and appeared to have a large window or other panel.
