Federation shuttlecraft & mission scoutship

Enterprise-E shuttlecraft (below) and Federation mission scoutship (above)

The Enterprise-E shuttlecraft was a shuttlecraft type docked aboard the USS Enterprise-E in 2375.

This vessel was used by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Lieutenant Commander Worf in an attempt to locate a missing Federation mission scoutship and to deactivate its malfunctioning pilot, Lt. Cmdr. Data.

In their first attempt, they fired tachyon bursts at the mission scout, forcing Data to reset his shields, and allowing them an opportunity to beam him off the vessel. Attempts, however, to transport Data from the scoutship failed as he initiated a transport inhibitor.

Their second attempt was to distract Data and proceed to forceably dock with the mission scout by locking onto the ship's docking clamps. In doing so, they were able to access the mission scout though its docking hatch on the ventral hull. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

The designation type for this shuttlecraft was not been given, however, some non-canon sources suggest that it might be a "Type-11 shuttlecraft".
An LCARS display from the shuttlecraft depicts the shuttle's warp field geometry, which may mean that the shuttle has warp capabilities.
