An enzyme is a natural catalyst produced by organisms. Enzymes are biochemical and can consist of any number of proteins.
The Velandran Circle developed an experimental enzyme which they claimed was capable of stopping the rapid aging process of mimetic simbiots. Empirical evidence supporting their claim was sketchy at best. (ENT: "Similitude")
Virus vaccine synthesis normally requires enzymes. (VOY: "Nothing Human")
The Altarian marsupial's droppings contained a great concentration of regenerative enzyme. (ENT: "Broken Bow")
Humans can be allergic of enzymes. Malcolm Reed was allergic of plant enzymes. (ENT: "Silent Enemy")
Kadi physiology lacked the enzyme to break down alcohol-like substances in synthehol. (VOY: "Someone to Watch Over Me")
A fluorescent enzyme was produced by the Teirenian ant drones and activated by their queen. (VOY: "Child's Play")
Bones and muscle tissue of Hirogen prey were broken down outside the body by an enzyme. (VOY: "Prey")
Bathar's formula to stop the aging process was only a tripolymer enzyme. (VOY: "Memorial")
