Epsilon Canaris III was the inhabited third planet of the Epsilon Canaris system. This was the homeworld of the Epsilon Canaris III natives. The planet was located near the Gamma Canaris region.
In 2267, Assistant Commissioner Nancy Hedford was dispatched there to prevent the outbreak of war. The commissioner developed Sakuro's Disease and had to be evacuated; subsequent events made her return impossible, and necessitated the assignment of another female mediator. (TOS: "Metamorphosis")
According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), in 2378, Epsilon Canaris III was a Federation member.
