Epsilon Canaris III was the third planet in the Epsilon Canaris planetary system. This was an inhabited planet. The planet was near the Gamma Canaris region. This region of space was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
In 2267, Assistant Commissioner Nancy Hedford was dispatched there to prevent the outbreak of war. The commissioner developed Sakuro's Disease and had to be evacuated; subsequent events made her return impossible, and necessitated the assignment of another mediator. (TOS: "Metamorphosis")
Epsilon Canaris, the primary of the Epsilon Canaris system, was seen on a star chart that was seen in Star Trek Generations. This chart depicted the location of planets, stars, and star systems in the Alpha Quadrant. Based on the dimensions of the circles used to mark locations on the star chart seen in "Generations", this star was located relatively near to the USS Enterprise-D.
According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), in 2378, Epsilon Canaris III was a Federation member.
