An ermine violin was a conjectural musical instrument proposed by Spock in 2268 as an equally furry and pleasant-sounding alternative to tribbles. It presumably would have combined the sound qualities of a traditional violin with the soft features of a creature from Earth's Mustelid family of mammals.
