Errik Tustenuggee (born 31 March 1970; age 54) is an actor who appeared as Federation Captain Cartwright at James T. Kirk's promotion to captain of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek.[1]. He did not receive on-screen credit for his work, although he can be seen clapping within a foot of Kirk (Chris Pine) and Admiral Christopher Pike (Bruce Greenwood).

Errik was born in Brooklyn, New York, but moved to Orange County, California, when he was 15. He began acting at Cypress College and, in 1992, he appeared on Quantum Leap, the hit science fiction series which starred Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. Tustenuggee decided to take a break from Hollywood and travel to South Korea and South America for five years to teach English.

Since his return to acting, Tustenuggee has appeared on such television shows as Monk (with Clyde Kusatsu, Bonita Friedericy, Aaron Lustig, and Van Epperson), Without a Trace (starring Enrique Murciano), Commander in Chief (with Samantha Eggar), and Til Death (with John Cho). He also appeared in two episodes of Boston Legal, including the second season finale, "BL: Los Angeles". In addition to series regulars William Shatner and Rene Auberjonois, this episode also featured Jeri Ryan and Robert Foxworth.

In addition to Star Trek, Tustenuggee was seen in the 2008 Paramount film Cloverfield, which was produced by J.J. Abrams and Bad Robot Productions. He can also be seen in Eagle Eye, which was produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. His other films have included Class Act (1992), Role Models (2008), and He's Just Not That Into You (2009).
