Template:Realworld F.J. Rio made his first and largest Star Trek appearance as Enrique Muñiz in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Starship Down". He reprised the character twice more, appearing in "Hard Time" and "The Ship". F.J. Rio has the distinction of playing one of the only Spanish-speaking characters in Star Trek. He later played Joleg in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Repentance" and a Vissian engineer in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Cogenitor".

Rio has also played Cruz Pezuela in The Shield and Alex Diaz in Beverly Hills, 90210. Rio also guest starred in Seinfeld, The X-Files, NYPD Blue, Prison Break, 24 and Southland.
