Faith Garland was a nurse in the United States Army Air Corps in 1947, when the three Ferengi, Quark, Rom, and Nog, crash landed in Roswell, New Mexico, after having accidentally traveled back in time from the year 2372.
Garland and her fiancee, Professor Jeff Carlson, were part of the team tasked with investigating the three aliens. In that capacity, she befriended the Ferengi, and attempted to defend them when she felt they were being treated too harshly. Later, Nurse Garland was tasked with assisting Air Corps captain Wainwright in his interrogation of the aliens, and repeatedly injected Quark with Sodium Pentathol under orders from the captain.
