A Federation cargo drone is an 24th century automated cargo vessel.

In 2369, an overworked Miles O'Brien wished he had transferred to a cargo drone: "No people. No complaints." (DS9: "Babel")

This vessel may served a similar capacity as a the Federation robot grain ship used during the 23rd century.
