The Ferengi Trade Mission was one of many Ferengi governmental authorities established for the purpose of providing regulation of Ferengi commerce.
Unlike the Ferengi Commerce Authority whose governance is mostly related to ensuring adherence to internal Ferengi business practices such as trade by-laws, the Trade Mission was established to promote and facilitate trade between the Ferengi Alliance and the formal governments of other species with whom a relationship had already been established.
In 2368 Qol claimed to be a representative of the Mission when he boarded the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "The Perfect Mate")
