The Ferengi phaser was a weapon used by the Ferengi which fired a forced plasma beam. (TNG: "Descent")
In 2374, Quark and some of his gang took Ferengi firearms with them to trade Keevan for Ishka in a prisoner exchange on the space station Empok Nor. Later in 2375, he took it with him to AR-558 to defend himself and his nephew Nog from Jem'Hadar. (DS9: "The Magnificent Ferengi", "The Siege of AR-558")
- The prop used as a Ferengi phaser was originally designed as a Vulcan weapon (likely for TNG: "Gambit, Part II") as mentioned in The Art of Star Trek. Here it was repainted silver to represent a Ferengi weapon, and was later seen as a rebel weapon in the mirror universe in DS9: "The Emperor's New Cloak".
