Interrogation room

The interrogation room

The interrogation room is a large room aboard the USS Enterprise-D that can be used for interrogations and hearings during courts martial or other judicial matters.

The room featured a circular raised dais with a single chair were the accused would be questioned. Interrogators would sit at either of two semi-circular desks placed at the base of the dais. Behind the desks, several rows of chairs could be arranged for observers if a hearing was open to the public.

In 2366, Romulan Alidar Jarok was interrogated by Commander William T. Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi in the room. (TNG: "The Defector")

One year later, the Klingon spy J'Dan and later Crewman Simon Tarses and even Captain Jean-Luc Picard were interrogated in the facilities. (TNG: "The Drumhead")

The interrogation room was first seen in TNG: "The Defector" where it appeared much smaller than in its second appearance in TNG: "The Drumhead". On the set of the Enterprise the Interrogation room was located at a non-permanent corridor on the set, not connected to any permanent sets. This is indicated by a door with round-edges which can be seen through the open door of the Interrogation room. Such a rounded door was not part of the permanent corridor-set of the Enterprise-D.
Several other episodes featured interrogation rooms, including "Chain Of Command, Part II" (Gul Madred's office on Celtris III), "The Search, Part II" (in a simulation of Deep Space 9), "Little Green Men" (a United States Air Force base), "Random Thoughts" (on the Mari homeworld), "In the Cards" (aboard Weyoun's ship), "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" (somewhere on Romulus), and "Kir'Shara" (aboard Shran's ship).
