An alien fondue
Fondue was a Human form of food preparation that involved dipping a food into a sauce or another melted food before eating it.
On August 17th, 2152, Chef intended to serve the Enterprise crew a three-course fondue dinner:
- Bread and green apples in cheese fondue
- Lamb and beef in soy fondue
- Red apples and strawberries in chocolate fondue
- (Champagne optional)
When Chef became sick on August 12th, Ensign Hoshi Sato took over the galley, and decided to make all oden for a time. (ENT: "Singularity")
- It was not mentioned how soon Chef got better, so it is possible fondue night was still on.
When Leanne, Riska, Nog and Jake Sisko had a date in Quark's in 2371, they were having a fondue. (DS9: "Life Support")
- According to the script of the episode, they "are sitting around a table with a large alien pot of green glop in the center -- this is a sort of fondue concoction, where each of them has long skewers which they plunge into the glop and pull out tasty treats. They also have plates of food with various meats and other delicacies."
