I'm simply curious, perhaps this isn't the worlds best place to ask this, and it's perhaps already covered someplace else, but why isn't a persons species mentioned in an episode summary? For instance, the first mention of a person (Picard, Sisko, Archer, T'Pol, Worf, etc...) in say, the pilot page with a line of their species (Something like, Sisko, a Human, stands up...). Obviously this would only have to happen once and not needed for every episode, but is done so in first appearance for sourcing/archival reasons.

I hope that made sense, and again, I was simply curious, perhaps the answer would be obvious if I saw it (or really thought it over), but it was something I had just started to wonder lately.--Terran Officer 07:01, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Remember that part of the point of using the wiki structure is so that you can follow the link to find out more information about the character. Unless it is specifically relevant to the section at hand, I don't think it is necessary. Especially when it comes to main characters. It is moderately unlikely that someone is going to come to Memory Alpha and not know that Sisko is human, for example. --OuroborosCobra talk 07:33, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

I suppose that makes sense, I was almost viewing it from an archival point of view, as it's obviously mentioned on the pages for the specific person and whatnot. It's not like by the time of DS9 most didn't know what a Klingon look like (basicly) or a Vulcan, Andorian etc...--Terran Officer 19:43, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
