I've just watched "Before and After" where we're treated with two baby deliveries. Each time the parents are delighted to discover that "It's a girl!" Which makes me wonder: didn't they know already? Don't they use ultrasounds or something better? I think I remember seeing some DS9 episodes where someone was pregnant (probably Kira but I may be wrong) and where Bashir was regularly performing several routine checks on the pregnant mother. Could anyone point us to the right direction?

- Perhaps they just didn't want to know, as some do today. The Doctor accidentally revealed Miral Paris's gender to Tom and B'Elanna in "Lineage" and that was based on a medical scan of some kind, if I remember correctly.--31dot 22:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
