- Personally, I don't think it matters as much to MA and how people use it, and what it is supposed to be, than it does to Uncyclopedia. We aren't trying to look like a parody of Wikipedia, where having "wikia" in the URL is disruptive. Hell, Memory Beta gets on fine with "Wikia" in the URL. The biggest resistance will be from people who used MA before the merge with Wikia several years ago, and that isn't many of us. Not sure if even Alan dates that far back. Of course, there will be those (myself included) upset by simply not having a choice in the matter, in having this "forced" on us. --OuroborosCobra talk 14:45, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

- w:Memory Alpha: Memory Alpha is officially not a Wikia, since it is hosted on a separate domain, and released under the Creative Commons by-nc license (details) rather than the GFDL. Instead, it is a sister project of Wikia, along with Uncyclopedia.
