- I confirmed (at least for myself) that it's just a very limited preview screening that's happened in Australia, as is due to take place in London on 2 May. So, I think the date we have to watch is 9th May, due to the film going on general release in loads of countries (see here). I'd recommend a lockdown period but a minimal one, keeping in mind wikia didn't seem entirely comfortable with it in 2009. --Defiant (talk) 21:11, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
- I thought the plan was to lock the site late on the 8th, with some sort of notice going up beforehand. I was wondering though if any maintenance bot runs, or even some cleanup by hand, could be done with normal editing disabled, as there is a bit of a backlog of things that could be done, not to mention any prep for the film. - Archduk3 22:01, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
- I agree that the site should be locked for 24-36 hours (how long did we lock it the last time around?) on May 8/9th but after that, it should be open for editing. I suggest we put a spoiler warning on the main page and on the major Star Trek (film) related pages (characters, ships, planets) that already exist. All newly created pages for the new film need a spoiler warning too, all until the US release date about a week later. --Jörg (talk) 16:12, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
