Ok I'm extreamly new here and I've been hearing that chocolate and possibly cinnamon are intoxicants for Vulcans, I've heard it's both from various sourses. Is this one of those fan started myths or is there actually a basis for it? Also that alcohol has no effect on Vulcans. Can any one help it's starting to bother me and start arguments around here so can some one settle this?? Please? Chaos99.194.92.234 03:55, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

There isn't anything on the chocolate page and we're usually pretty good about that kind of stuff but this wiki is still missing a lot. However, I could not find anything in the scripts in relation to either substance. It's most likely from a book. Check out Memory-Beta as they might have more information from the novels. — Morder (talk) 06:42, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Memory Beta needs even more work then we do, by far, but I don't remember anything about either chocolate or cinnamon being mentioned as an intoxicant in canon, so it's either from a book of fan made as far as I know. The alcohol thing is most likely from Spock's comment about his people being "spared the dubious benefits of alcohol", but since they also make Vulcan port, I would think they must be getting something out of it if they drink some. - Archduk3 07:10, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
I don't know about chocolate, but the novelization of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home has Spock stating that sugar(sucrose, I think) is not good for Vulcans.--31dot 11:11, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Star Trek Answers indicates that the novelization of STIV was referring to chocolate. However there's an episode of DS9 where Quark offers a Vulcan port or chocolate, which may indicate they would get drunk on both, if Quark is consistent.24.125.126.209 02:47, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

With Quark anything's possible I guess. But that is pretty interesting. There are a lot of contradictions in canon though. Most likely the resault of not enough research or just plain too many different writers over the years. take care Chaos99.194.92.234 16:39, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
