I read in an article somewhere (can't even remember whether it was on a website, or an offline dead tree) that we can customize our own starships.

STO is now out, so I plan to get it soon. Once I start playing (and amass the wealth I need to build a starship), I plan to build a "Federation Cube". It will be like a Borg cube, but with windows and Federation-style amenities. (Beds, not regeneration booths. Anything you'd see in a luxury star-cruise-ship.)

If it is possible to construct a Federation Cube, what all would it take? How much architectural skill? How many Federation credits, to build one that is one cubic-mile in volume? (By comparison, the Borg cube is 6.71755724 cubic miles in volume.)

Then once that's done, I suppose the F-Cube (shorthand hereafter) would have the capacity to house 19,352 passengers/crew. (after calculating simple math.) In that case, how difficult would it be to hire so many crewmembers? How long would this process take? Are there droids (like Data, etc.) that I can just purchase if hiring warm bodies proves to be too difficult?

All-in-all, is it worth it attempting to build and run an F-Cube? Would I have a blast operating it?

Looking forward to STO! --ENG 12:35, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Please note that this is neither an STO support forum, nor a place for idle discussion. It is a place to get help if one doesn't know where exactly to look for some information. All the information we have about STO is in the article Star Trek Online. For more specific questions, a forum dedicated to that game might be a better place to ask. Thanks. -- Cid Highwind 13:07, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Sadly, no one has posted onto the forums at STO Wikia since 2008. :( --ENG 13:25, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

The Star Trek Online article has links to look at too:
The Wikia STO wiki isn't their biggest and grandest.
As an aside, that took me 30s to find them. -- sulfur 13:41, February 26, 2010 (UTC)
