1. When did dressing up as Klingons become a big thing? Obviously, some people have been dressing up like Klingons since the original series, but when did it become big-- much bigger than say, dressing up as a vulcan, romulan, or andorian. When did that happen? |

:I'm not sure this is the place for this, but... I always felt Kang started some of that honor thing in "Day of the Dove". As for movies, Star Trek III had some of that, with the interaction between the Klingon woman and Commander Kruge. That's when we got a good long look at the (then) new costumes, weapons, the Bird of Prey ship ... and of course the language and a smidge of culture. If I recall correctly, that's when Trekdom in general really took a liking to 'em, and the Klingon fan clubs started. By the time of STVI and the Worf heritage episodes of TNG, I think they already knew what the Klingon fans were looking for, and were then playing variations of the theme. |

1. When did dressing up as Klingons become a big thing? Obviously, some people have been dressing up like Klingons since the original series, but when did it become big-- much bigger than say, dressing up as a vulcan, romulan, or andorian. When did that happen?
2. When did the Klingons first become 'warriors of honor'? Obviously, this aspect of the Klingons is found in the first season of The Next Generation-- but was it in earlier episodes/movies/books?

- I think that Klingons really started to become "cool" with STIII.
