- Moved from Talk:The Siege of AR-558 (episode)
I mean, with 24th century technology they should have all kinds of fancy gizmos. Power suits like in Halo or Crysis, advanced body armour, portable forcefields that protect defensive positions and a 24th century machine gun designed to take down forcefields and supplement the semi-automatic rifles. There's none of that in any of the episodes, not even a reference to having lost the aforementioned equipment in an earlier phase of the battle. It wouldn't hurt the dramatic intentions of these episodes (the "war is hell" message), probably even enhance them because more technology means more brutal, nastier warfare. I'm willing to accept that power suits are costly and only worn by special forces under special circumstances (so they should've been used in "Change of Heart"), but all the other tech should be there in most engagements. 213.93.101.238 18:42, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

- I guess, I was just wondering if the producers ever considered and cut these things because of the costs or that they were just being dumb. I mean it's not like those ideas didn't exist in the 1990's, similar to how starships don't seem to have point-defense systems against torpedoes (except for the new movie).
