Frank Kopyc (born 6 August 1948; age 75) is the actor who played the Bolian aide in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fifth season episode "Let He Who Is Without Sin...".

Primarily a stage actor, Kopyc is the best friend of Deep Space Nine co-star Armin Shimerman, who reportedly based his characterization of Quark on Kopyc. Besides Deep Space Nine, the two of them also co-starred together in the 1998 film Looking for Lola (Kopyc played a waiter, Shimerman a maitre'd). Shimerman commented: "My best friend was one of the guest stars. His name is Frank Kopyc and he played the blue Bolian who's an assistant to Monte Markham's character. Frank is the man I modeled Quark after. He was my inspiration for Quark, so it was nice to have him right at my elbow. He's a fun-loving, sort of self-inquisitive type of guy who enjoys life, but at the same time always is worried about being first. And I don't mean that in a bad way. That's the way I like to play Quark. He's very human, and his problems are definitely serious ones and human ones. It's just that Quark sees the world from Frank's point of view." . (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion (p. 393))

Kopyc commented: "I'm gay, number one, and I had a very difficult time adjusting in a very heterosexual community in upstate New York where it was all football and cowboys. Where I really found acceptance with my peers in high school was when I did a play. I'd walk down the hall: "Oh, Frank, you were great in that play." And all of a sudden I became popular and made friends, and I'm thinking, "I'm good at this. I like this. I like the way this feels." (Los Angeles Magazine, March 2001)

Kopyc also had a small role in Total Recall (1990, with Marc Alaimo, Roy Brocksmith, Robert Costanzo, Ronny Cox, Mel Johnson, Jr., Lycia Naff, Michael Champion, and the voice of Robert Picardo).

His other film credits include The Last Boy Scout (1991, with Noble Willingham, Bruce McGill, and Frank Collison), Father of the Bride (1991), Dunston Checks In (1996, starring Jason Alexander and featuring Paula Malcomson), and Forever Lulu (2000, with Michael J. Pollard).

His other television work includes appearances on such programs as Parks and Recreation, Who's the Boss?, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and The West Wing.
