Template:Realworld Frank Welker (born 16 February 1945; age 79) is a professional voice actor, most noted for portraying the character of Freddy (and following Don Messick's death, Scooby-Doo as well) in the various Scooby-Doo animated series and movies, Darwin the dolphin from the series seaQuest DSV, and many others. His work with Leonard Nimoy goes even futher: Nimoy was the voice of Galvatron in The Transformers: The Movie, and Welker took over that role in the subsequent seasons of the television series. They also appeared together in The Pagemaster and Futurama. Franks also voiced Autobot leader Optimus Prime on Transformers.

He voiced many animals in The Simpsons and Nibbler in Futurama.

Trivia

  • Welker also performed the voice of a character known as Doctor Claw. Years later this would come to be a fanbased appellation for the Temporal Cold War character known as Future Guy, due to the similarity of traits held in common between them such as distinctive distorted voices, and never showing their faces while simultaneously orchestrating the actions of their pawns as their own relative anonymity is maintained.
