Galen IV colony was a Federation colony on the planet Galen IV where, in 2353, Jeremiah Rossa was born. The area it was in included a forest.
Four years later, the colony was attacked by Talarian forces during the Galen border conflicts. During the battle, Jeremiah's parents were killed and he was adopted by Endar, a Talarian officer. (TNG: "Suddenly Human")
It remains unknown if the colony still exists or if Galen IV is still under Federation jurisdiction at all.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on the chart United Federation of Planets I, the colony survived the Galen border conflicts, and, by 2378, had become a member of the Federation.
