Bellatrix (or Gamma Orionis) is a star (spectral class B2III) 243 lightyears from Sol in the constellation Orion.

In 2371, Admiral Patterson asked Captain Kathryn Janeway for the third brightest star in the constellation Orion as seen from Earth. Janeway promptly responded correctly with Alpha Orionis, or "Bellatrix", if he prefered the original arabic name. (VOY: "Relativity")
