The Genesis sector was a region of space located within the Mutara sector. This sector consisted of the planet Genesis.
In 2285, the USS Enterprise dropped out of warp as it entered the Genesis sector on its way to the Genesis planet. At this point of time it was also detected by Kruge's Bird-of-Prey. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
