Geodesic radiation is an extremely dangerous energy form produced by a geodesic fold, capable of liquefying organic tissue.
In 2377, a hologram of Reginald Barclay which had been reprogrammed by the crew of a Ferengi vessel, presented falsified information to the crew of the USS Voyager indicating that Starfleet had determined a method whereby they could survive the geodesic radiation of a fold leading to the Alpha Quadrant. The Ferengi were hoping to salvage Seven of Nine's nanoprobes to sell them for a profit, but Lieutenant Barclay was able convince the Ferengi to close the fold before Voyager could enter.
