Girani was a Bajoran doctor who practiced on Deep Space 9 in the 2370s, along with Doctor Julian Bashir.
In 2375, she was on duty in the Infirmary, when "Admiral" Patrick dismissed her.
Several days later, Bashir asked Girani to take over from him in caring for Sarina Douglas. She later took several scans of Sarina, but did not find any neural activity in her thalamic pathways. (DS9: "Chrysalis")
