Gods of Night is the first book in the forthcoming Star Trek: Destiny crossover trilogy. Written by David Mack, it is scheduled for release in September 2008. The trilogy is set in February of 2381.

Summary

From Amazon.co.uk: The Borg return -- with a vengeance! Blitzkreig attacks by the single-minded aliens with their hive mentality and their mission to assimilate every intelligent being they encounter are leaving whole worlds aflame. No one knows how they are slipping past Starfleet's defences, so Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the Enterprise crew are detailed to find out -- and to put a stop to it if they can. Meanwhile, thousands of light years away, Captain Will Riker and the crew of the Titan follow bizarre energy pulses to a mysterious, hidden world. There they find a figure out of legend: a Starfleet captain long thought dead. And at the same time, over in the Gamma Quadrant, newly promoted Captain Dax and her crew investigate the wreck of the Earth starship Columbia NX-02, missing in action for more than two centuries.

Mack began work on the manuscript in July 2007, delivering it in September 2007.
Material from the novel was included in the Star Trek - Convention Special - along with material from Greater than the Sum and Kobayashi Maru - at the New York Comic-Con in mid-April 2008.
A solicitation cover, featuring an image from the 2005 Ships of the Line calendar, was presented at Amazon.com in early May 2008 (see sidebar); however, author Mack noted that the cover does not reflect the final design. [1]
