Chintoka tactical map — *Tactical Map*: The location of Goralis III

Goralis III was the uninhabited third planet in the Goralis system. This system was located in the territory of the Cardassian Union, in the Alpha Quadrant. It had a breathable atmosphere and plant and animal life. This planet was far from Breen space.

In 2374, the location of Goralis was labeled on a tactical map that was on display in the wardroom of Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets", okudagram)

In 2375, the runabout Gander, carrying Lieutenant Ezri Dax and Lieutenant Commander Worf, was destroyed in the atmosphere of this planet following an attack by two Jem'Hadar attack ships. Fortunately, Dax and Worf were able to transport to the planet's surface prior to the starship's destruction.

During their time on Goralis, Worf and Dax's relationship grew to a boiling point, and an argument between the two ultimately led to their sleeping together. This new development in their relationship was cut short, however, when they were captured by the Breen shortly thereafter. (DS9: "Penumbra")

The planet was referred to by its full name in DS9: "Strange Bedfellows". "gore-ah-luss" was the pronunciation for this planet's name from the script pronunciation guide for "Penumbra". [1]
