HD DVD

HD DVD, or High Definition Digital Video (or Versatile) Disc, was a next-generation DVD format and primary competitor of Blu-ray Disc in the next-generation DVD format competition.

Paramount Home Entertainment went HD DVD exclusive starting with the release of Blades of Glory on 28 August 2007. [1]

The remastered version of Star Trek: The Original Series was released in a HD DVD/DVD combination format by CBS Home Entertainment. The complete first season was released on 20 November 2007, with season 2 originally expected in mid-2008.
