Harris was a Starfleet officer assigned to the Engineering Department of the USS Enterprise-D. This officer held the rank of ensign in 2367. When a preburner was turned offline after was it discovered that the deuterium flow was 2% richer after it was processed in that device, Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge ordered Harris to pull the preburner from the matter-antimatter reaction assembly and perform a full watt test.
