Heart of targ
Heart of targ (targh tIq) was a traditional Klingon dish consisting of a targ's heart, served on a bed of greens.
Commander William T. Riker tasted some heart of targ when he tried to acquaint himself with Klingon culture prior to his temporary assignment to the IKS Pagh in 2365. (TNG: "A Matter Of Honor")
Klingons believed that heart of targ brought courage to a warrior who eats it. In 2374, a holographic version of Moklor told B'Elanna Torres that ingesting heart of targ was a required act in the Day of Honor ritual. (VOY: "Day of Honor")
The heart of targ was represented on screen by a beef kidney.
