A hotel is a (usually commercial) facility offering short-term, temporary lodging to travelers or visitors to a location. Each of several accommodations available within a hotel usually consists of a room equipped with bedding and restroom facilities for at least one person, along with other furniture and amenities such as a basic communications device, entertainment system, and environmental controls.
If a hotel has a restaurant on site, the guest can dine there or have a meal brought to his room for an additional charge. Customer service in a hotel is usually provided by the bell staff (who also assist arriving guests with their luggage) and coordinated by the concierge.
Many large hotels have meeting facilities available for various functions.
