The IKS Amar was a Klingon Template:ShipClass battle cruiser that was in service to the Klingon Imperial Fleet in the latter half of the 23rd century.
In 2273, the Amar and two other vessels intercepted the V'Ger cloud as it traversed Klingon space. Upon contact, the Amar and its sister ships were digitized by the energy cloud, taking the three ships, and their crews, out of existence. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
The Amar was referred to as the "Imperial Klingon Cruiser Amar", as in IKC Amar. The name of this vessel was the inspiration for the character Amar, that was later referenced in Star Trek: Voyager.
