The IRW Valdore was a Romulan Template:ShipType warbird that was in service with the Romulan military in the late 24th century, under the command of Commander Donatra.

History

In 2379, the Valdore took part in a battle in the Bassen Rift, along with another Warbird and the USS Enterprise, a Federation starship, against the Reman Warbird Scimitar, under the command of Shinzon of Remus. Shinzon had recently executed a coup d'état of the Romulan Empire, and was planning to eliminate all life on Earth using thalaron radiation. Believing that Shinzon would lead the Empire to destruction, Donatra assisted Captain Picard and the Enterprise crew in the battle, until the Valdore was critically damaged due to an attack by the Scimitar. After the conclusion of the battle, in which Shinzon was defeated and the Scimitar destroyed, Donatra dispatched shuttles from the Valdore with medical personnel and supplies, in order to assist the Enterprise crew in recovering from the conflict. The IRW Valdore was presumably named after mid-22nd century Romulan Admiral Valdore.

Although the Valdore appears to have fewer decks than the Enterprise-E, promotional information from Paramount Pictures shows that the wingspan of the Valdore was twice as wide as the Enterprise was long.

It may be possible that the name of this ship could be PWB Valdore for (a.) this ship was operational in 2375 and (b.)ships of the Romulan military began using the prefix PWB in 2375 for their ships. (DS9: "Image in the Sand")
