Imaging chamber

The Enterprise's imaging chamber in sickbay

The imaging chamber was part of Enterprise NX-01's sickbay. It was used to do full body scans and to give treatment to patients. A patient using the chamber typically laid down flat on his back on a bed which rolls out from the chamber. The chamber's door consisted of a metallic mesh-like material. Above the door, several biofunction monitors were mounted to display the progress of the treatment.

Whlist under attack by the Mazarites in February 2152, Captain Jonathan Archer ordered Vulcan Ambassador V'Lar to sickbay. When the Mazarites boarded, they were taken to sickbay, where V'Lar was supposedly undergoing dermal regeneration for plasma burns in the chamber. The Mazarites destroyed the chamber as their ships were attacked by the Vulcan ship Sh'Raan, believing the ambassador was inside. As they left, V'Lar entered sickbay, proving that she had never been in the chamber. (ENT: "Fallen Hero")

The same month, the imaging chamber was used to treat Ensign Travis Mayweather who had a broken leg and an infection after his rock climbing accident on Risa and his treatment at the local hospital. (ENT: "Two Days and Two Nights")

In March 2153, Doctor Phlox was infected with Borg nanoprobes. He devised a treatment of omicron particles, but the dosage would have to be very high. He used the imaging chamber to apply the treatment, and while it was visibly unpleasant, he made a full recovery. (ENT: "Regeneration")
