EarthEasternHemishpere2154

The eastern hemisphere of planet Earth, including China, India and Australia in 2154

India was a country and subcontinent in the south-central Asian continent on Earth. The capital was New Delhi. The people and culture specific to India were referred to as Indian.

In 1962, Vic Fontaine sang the song Come Fly with Me at his nightclub. One of the exotic locales mentioned in the song was the Indian city Bombay. (DS9: "His Way")

A 21st century-era political map of Earth was stored in the USS Enterprise's library computer in 2254. The location of India was labeled on this map. This map was among the materials viewed by the Talosians when they scanned the Enterprise computer. (TOS-R: "The Cage")

Lieutenant Marla McGivers identified Khan Noonien Singh as being from northern India, a region populated by Sikhs during the late 20th century. She described them as "the most fantastic warriors." (TOS: "Space Seed")

By the 24th century, the Federation's Star Station India had been named in honor of this nation-state. (TNG: "Unnatural Selection")

Background

The map used in the remastered "The Cage" was a Central Intelligence Agency map published in September 2008. The ice shelfs of Antarctica were masked with black ink. New Delhi was labeled on the map; it was represented by a black star.[1]

Retroactive continuity: Two 20th-century era maps were stored in the USS Enterprise's library computer in 2254. One of these maps was of the eastern hemisphere depicting the location of India. The other map was a statistical map with the west coast of India (country was identified by name) visible. These maps were among the materials viewed by the Talosians when they scanned the Enterprise computer. (TOS: "The Cage")
